First off, on Saturday January 9, the Kansas City Chiefs and Houston Texans played against each other with the Chiefs ultimately winning with a score of 30-0. Chief player, Knile Davis, started the game off right by taking the opening kickoff 106 yards to reach a touch down in the first eleven seconds of the game. “Knile hit it hard and fast. The second game on Saturday January 9, the Cincinnati Bengals played against the Pittsburg Steelers who conclusively won the game with a close score of 18-16. This is Pittsburg’s first post season win since 2010. “It’s good to come on top”, head coach Mike Tomlinson said. “We’re not a perfect group, but we do enough to move on and hopefully that’ll happen again next week”.
Next up, on Sunday January 10, the Seattle Seahawks won victory over The Minnesota Vikings resulting a score of 10-9. Player Russel Wilson was proud of his team by saying “The defense was unbelievable. We kept believing and had commitment toward each other in a tough environment.”
Finally, the last game of the Wild Card had Green Bay Packers vs Washington Redskings coming out with a score of 35-18– Packers as the winner. Quarterback Aaron Rodgers comments on the win saying “We had a good plan and it executed very well. Our confidence is going and it just takes one performance to get us going in the right direction.”
The divisional round began on Saturday, January 16 starting off with the Kansas City Chiefs and New England Patriots. The Patriots won with a score of 27 and the Chiefs finishing with 20. “The coaches work so hard to get the players prepared and it payed off in some of the biggest games.” Patriots PlayerTom Brady commented.
The Green Bay Packers and Arizona Cardinals played on January 16 as well with a final score of 26-20– Cardinals win. Player Larry Fitzgerald gave his team a victory by running through tacklers for 75 yards. He ended up being tackled on the 5, but ran the ball in on the next play. ” We’ve had ups and downs all season and I just wanted to make a really good play.” Fitzgerald said.
Sunday, January 17 the Carolina Panthers won a game against the Seattle Sea Hawks with a score of 31-24.
“Our main goal is to believe in each other and we always have to find a way to win a football game.” Quarterback Cam Newton commented.
